演題:Cell cycle dependent activity of Plo1&s_comma; a polo-like kinase
in fission yeast

日時:12月13日 (月) 16:00から17:00

場所:東京大学理学部3号館 3階 327号室

Polo-like kinases (Plks) comprise a family of serine-threonine kinases&s_comma; found in divergent species from yeast to human. Plks have emerged as key cell cycle regulators playing multiple functions at distince stages of cell division. In fission yeast&s_comma; as single Plk&s_comma; Plo1&s_comma; has been identified so far. Plo1 is required for the formation of the mitotic spindle&s_comma; the placement of the actin medial ring prior to cytokinesis and the regulation of septation. The requirement of Plo1 at different cell cycle stages indicates the importance of precise regulation of Plo1 function throughout the cell cycle. Such regulation could be achieved through modulating the level&s_comma; activity&s_comma; or location of the protein. To obtain further insights into Plo1 function&s_comma; we have established an in vitro assay for Plo1 associated kinase activity.
