Session 1 Molecular Biology of Osteoclasts

　Mφの分化形態のひとつである破骨細胞の分化誘導因子ODF/OCIF（TRANCE/TRANCEL/RANK/RANKL）の発見は、T細胞・樹状細胞の活性化や成熟に関与する分子と同一であることなどが明らかになってきている。このように破骨細胞の分化、機能に関する研究の進展はめざましく、本セッションではこれら破骨細胞に関する最近の知見を討議する。

2. Dr. Kyouji Yamaguchi (Yukijirusi Milk Corp.): A new pair of TNF ligand-receptor family proteins modulating osteoclastogenesis

3. Dr. Hiroshi Kawaguchi (The University of Tokyo): Mechanism of low turn over osteoporosis in the klotho mouse exhibiting multiple ageing phenotypes

4. Dr. Shigeyuki Hakeda (Meikai University):The differentiation of osteoclasts and prostaglandin

5. Dr. Yoshiya Tanaka (University of Occupational and Environmental Health School of Medicine): Adhesion molecules on osteoblasts in osteoclast differentiation

Session 2 Infection and Macrophages

　感染防御機構においてマクロファージは重要な役割を果たしている。本セッションではLPSのレセプターおよびシグナル伝達機構に関する最近の知見、Mφの産生するIL-18やMφ内寄生菌の増殖や殺菌機構について討議する。

　マクロファージや樹状細胞の造血幹細胞および血中単球からの分化機構や機能のdiversityに関して最近の知見をふまえて討論する。
